This book entails an eight-steps ‘journey’, that was ‘walked’ in Nandi Forest Ecosystem (afro-montane moist forest ecosystem) and in Arabuko-Sokoke Forest (coastal forest, including mangrove forest), demystifying the procedures and steps taken in implementation of Participatory Forest Management (PFM), through sharing best practices, lessons learnt and citing examples within the forest ecosystems and other case studies of Mt. Kenya Forest ecosystem. This was aimed at reducing deforestation and forest degradation towards climate change mitigation in the forest ecosystems and other similar ecosystems in Kenya and beyond. The book can therefore be recommended for environmental scientists, forestry managers, wildlife managers, natural resource managers, policy formulators and general PFM practitioners.
