Titanium and its alloy based foam have gained a lot of interest for research in recent years as implants in biomedical applications. This book deals about titanium alloy foams prepared by powder metallurgy. The foams prepared by using titanium, copper and silver powders. Space holder material wax was used in two different sizes: 200-500 microns and 500-1000 microns in order to observe the effect of different pore size on mechanical properties and density. The sintered samples were examined in terms of relative density, percent porosity, pores size and distribution, compressive strength and flexural strength. The results show that percent porosity of sintered samples in case of copper and silver alloyed titanium foam is less than pure titanium foams due to higher compressibility of silver and copper powders. Compressive strength and flexural strength of alloy foam is higher than pure titanium due to solid solution strengthening.
