Sinopsis
Pushkin contributed not only to Russian fyrical and narrative poetry but also to folk literatüre and the historical novel. The Daughter of the Commandant which was published in 1836 is considered by Russians his best prose work. This famous historical novel which is a romanticized account of Pugachev's Rebellion in 1774-1775 is also a precursor of the great Russian novel of the later period.
