Sinopsis
The award-winning feature film Gegen Die Wand by the Hamburg-based filmmaker Faith Akin led to the project of a documentary film portraying the diverse and vibrant music scene of Istanbul”Crossing the Bridge: The Sound of Istanbul. The photographs in this volume were taken during the shooting of the film and consequently reveal facets of a city that has fascinated the director from his early childhood days in Istanbul. Music CDs: The musical backdrop to these impressions is provided by a selection of tracks from Fatih Akin's personal collection, including original and previously unreleased outtakes from this film.

Acerca del autor
Andreas Thiel, born in Düsseldorf in 1957, lives in Hamburg. After studying at the Munich TV and Film College, he worked as production assistant, co-author and producer of various German TV shows and series and on films such as "Die Männer vom K3". He has been working with Fatih Akin since 2001, notably on the projects "Gegen die Wand" and "Crossing The Bridge", and the two of them set up the Hamburg production company CORAZON INTERNATIONAL in 2003. Hervé Dieu is a graduate of the celebrated Louis Lumière camera school in France. Since then, the Frenchman has been cameraman on a wide variety of projects. He has made a creative contribution to a series of Fatih Akin projects, including "Im Juli" and "Crossing the Bridge".
