It is now close on 50 years since Brian Jeffery gave guitarists what was then considered the first complete edition of the guitar works of Fernando Sor in a facsimile edition, a landmark publication in its time, greatly benefitting the guitar community. The intervening four decades have seen much new research in historical guitar matters, and a re-assessment of many pertinent matters in regard to Sor’s music. A significant figure among today’s leading researchers is Erik Stenstadvold, a recognised authority on Fernando Sor’s music. Guitar Heritage is proud to have him as the editor of this important new critical edition. This 1178-page edition in concert format (305mm x 230mm) in 14 volumes includes new and updated information about Sor and includes some little known and recently discovered works of his.
