Change in society depends upon a few factors like industrialization, modernization, but the change in attitude and values of the people also play a major role in changing the ways of living of the people. The tribal society is not exceptional at all. The change may drag the development which is solely dependent on transparent communication in proper place. Communication is the backbone of a society. The book deals with- how communication and development are intermingled with each other and to what extent it has impact in tribal society like Karbi in Assam, India.

Dr Ray is an Astt. Professor in the Department of Communication and Journalism, Gauhati University,India. She has also served Sikkim Central University, Gauhati University and Cotton College as Astt. Professor, Senior Lecturer and Senior Faculty cum Course Coordinator respectively.She has few books, research papers, popular articles to her credit.
