Sinopsis
Treatment with chemicals including application of contact insecticides and fumigation are the major methods available at present for the protection of stored products. Resistance development is a consequence of natural selection. Insecticide resistance to both fumigants and contact insecticides is a serious problem in controlling stored product insect pests throughout the world. This book provides information about the various mechanisms of insecticide resistance and their management strategies. Light is also shed about the development of resistance and the impact of insecticide resistance in various countries. A better understanding of the resistance mechanisms and management strategies is highly essential to manage the insect pests attacking stored products very effectively.

Dr. P. Pretheep Kumar is currently working as Assistant Professor (Agrl. Entomology) at Forest College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Mettupalayam, Tamil Nadu, India. Indian Council of Agricultural Research has honored him with the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Award for the year 2005 in the field of plant protection.
