Traditionally, software architecture utilizes the principle of separation of concerns to cope with the challenge of scalability of solutions to complex problems. For instance, by encapsulating functionality into self-contained units and applying information hiding, large and complex systems are decomposed into modules that can be developed and integrated independently. In the context of non-functional concerns, however, separation of concerns does not work as well. The main solution idea of this thesis is to leverage aspect-oriented con-cepts at the architectural level in order to provide a means for effectively and efficiently separating communication concerns in the context of architectural design
Biografía del autor
Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Peter Liggesmeyer has been holding a chair in Software Engineering: Dependability in the Department of Computer Science at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern and has been director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE) since 2004. He is founder and speaker of the Fraunhofer Alliance Embedded Systems. Prof. Liggesmeyer has received several scientific awards, including the Software Engineering Award of the Ernst Denert Foundation in 1993. He is the author of more than 100 scientific articles and books, especially the standard reference work "Software Quality" (2002, 2nd edition 2009). For more than 20 years, Prof. Liggesmeyer has now been in frequent demand as a lecturer for industry seminars and has been advising many leading companies in matters of technology issues.
