Using probabilistic methods and the economic principle of maximization, this book examines: the performance of different majority rules; independence versus co-operation among the members of an organization in reaching a decision; consequences of the presence of a leader on the performance of a decision structure; and how loyalty can influence the decision process. The book features a new model of decision structure called pyramidal organization.
