De la contraportada

What are algorithms? Is there an ethos of algorithmic thinking and acting? A sense of direction that provides us with orientation in the face of comprehensive datafication? This book explores the historical and intellectual foundations of algorithmics. The central task is to conceptually describe the problem of transparency and control, which can also be understood as a problem of competence or empowerment, and make it accessible to an ethical approach in order to assess it and to highlight design perspectives.
The translation was done with the help of artificial intelligence. A subsequent human revision was done primarily in terms of content.
