This book contains Biology and Management of Rice blue beetle, Leptispa pygmaea Baly of M.Sc(agri) Agricultural Entomology thesis research work done at UAS, Dharwad. Rice blue beetle (Leptispa pygmaea Baly) earlier considered as minor pest has reported to cause outbreaks which is much concern in rice cultivation at Uttara Kannada district. Weather factors, with a dominant role on the survivality, development and reproductive capacity of insect pests exert a great influence on their population dynamics. A thorough understanding of the pest population fluctuation in the field in relation to weather factors would provide an clear idea about the peak period of pest activity and it would help in developing an appropriate strategy for the its management.
