Among different cropping sequences evaluated T7 (rice-potato-cowpea) system was identified to be most productive with rice-equivalent yield of (270.39 q ha-1 year-1). The next best sequence was T5 (rice-brinjal-GM) with (213.19 q ha-1 year-1) rice- equivalent yield. T7 (Rice-potato-cowpea) cropping sequences gave significantly higher production efficiency (83.97kg ha-1 day-1), profitability (Rs 320.36 ha-1 day-1) and relative economic efficiency and (199.29 per cent). Net return of higher Rs. 116929 ha-1 year-1 was obtained under T7 (rice-potato-cowpea) but the maximum B: C ratio was recorded under (2.65) T5 (rice-brinjal-GM) cropping sequences due to huge cost involved for purchase of potato seed. The irrigation use productivity and employment generation efficiency was also significantly higher under T7 (rice-potato-cowpea) among the rest sequences. The nutrient use productivity was highest (41.96 kg grain unit of nutrient use-1) under two crop sequence i.e. rice-brinjal-GM sequence and stability with respect to total productivity and net return was higher under of two crop sequence i.e. rice-mustard–GM and rice-wheat cropping sequence, (0.89) and (0.79).
