Research work on software measurement technology. One software metrics is proposed to determine software maintainability/reusability though code complexity measurement in order to improve the weakness of software quality due to unnecessary complexity. The research analyzed several papers correlated to software maintainability/reusability. One questionnaire is distributed among 50 experts in this area to determine the requirement of the metrics and recognize the complexity factors. Four code bases are designed to investigate the effectiveness of the complexity factors on software maintainability/reusability. The metrics is created based upon four sub-metrics of Chidamber and Kemerer Object-Oriented (CK) metrics. The software maintainability/reusability captures the defects correlated to Object-Oriented programming complexity.
