Sinopsis
The present paper presents a comparative study regarding the development of the rural area in three communes from Calarasi county in Romania. The three communes are Independenta commune, Valcelele commune and Stefan Voda commune. The paper presents the common and different characteristics of these three commune. I made a comprehensive analysis of the rural area and I proposed measures for the development of the rural area in the three communes that were analysed. It is a very complex study that contains all the aspects of the rural area development, education, infrastructure, employment, environment, agriculture. I used and processed statistical data collected from the Regional Direction of Statistics in Calarasi, Romania.
