This book constitutes an encouraging example using electrical methods (DC, FDEM and SIP) in characterizing the coastal aquifer. The geophysical inversion results are represented in form of 1D, 2D and 3D imaging. Both DC sensitivity analysis and synthetic modeling are discussed in details. In addition, the joint inversion of different arrays is assessed to improve the model reliability especially under no or limited prior geological information. The intention here also is to establish an empirical relationship between the aquifer resistivity and the aquifer hydraulic parameters using the DC soundings. Published data from Nigeria and India is used to establish this equation. In Germany, DC soundings and 2D SIP data was used to investigate the hydrogeophysical conditions of tidal deposits. This book provides a ‘crash course’ in the new frontiers of environmental and hydrogeophysics.
