Sinopsis
A sulfone is a chemical compound containing a sulfonyl functional group attached to two carbon atoms. The title compound, Dapsone, C12H12N2O2S, has been studied by method of X-Ray Crystallography and crystallizes in three molecules asymmetric per unit cell with Monoclinic spce group C2/c and Z=8. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular interactions like N-H...O, O-H...O and intramolecular C-H...O interactions. The ORTEP diagram of 4-[(4-aminobenzene)sulfonyl]aniline showing 50% probability displacement ellipsoids with numbering scheme is shown in this book.

Mr. Sanjay M. Tailor is presently working as a Junior Research Fellow under the supervision of Prof. U. H. Patel, Head, Department of Physics, Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar and pursuing Ph.D. degree. He did his M.Sc with specialization in Solid State Physics and M.Phil. in Physics from the same University
