The public- private partnership (PPP) model of forest resources management, popularly known as Joint Forest Management (JFM) in India has been widely adopted since the closing decade of previous century.The book comprises seven chapters. Chapter one is introductory, which deals with conceptualization and genesis of Joint Forest Management (JFM), The second chapter contains review of literature of JFM in India. The third chapter composes the design of research. Chapter four covers case studies exhibiting various experiments of community forestry/ joint forest management in India. Chapter five deals with empirical findings concerning operationalisation of JFM in the selected villages India. Chapter six reveals the impact of JFM on rural development. The seventh chapter summarizes the entire study. The book provides an insight to the reader of sociology, researchers, planners & policy makers and all those concerned with management of forest resources, tribal and rural development.

Dr. Manish Tiwari is Ph.D. in Sociology from B.H.U, Varanasi, India.He has some acclaimed publications in some refereed journals. His specialization area relates with environmental sociology, forest management and journalism.
