M. Jane Toswell is professor of English at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada.

Taro Ishiguro is professor of English at the School of Commerce, Meiji University, in Tokyo.

Michiko Ogura, the honorand of this Festschrift, was professor of English at Chiba University, Keio University, and Tokyo Woman‘s Christian University in Japan, a world-renowned scholar in medieval English syntax.
