Sinopsis

The book focuses on Russian-Hebrew bilingual speech. It identifies, describes and accounts for diverse types of bilingual varieties spoken in the Russian immigrant community in Israel. Therefore an interdisciplinary approach was chosen, examining the structural aspects of the immigrants' speech under consideration of their personal social networks.

Acerca del autor

Elena Gasser studied General Lingustics, French Philology and Modern German Literature at the Free University of Berlin. She worked in diverse research projects at the FU Berlin. Currently she is employed as a lecturer at the Pedagogical Academy in Berlin and dedicates herself to the examination of language shift in Assyrian communities in the South Caucasus.
