This book covers all aspects of whole document indexing of books, serial publications, images and sound materials. The book gives the purpose and principles of indexing, and covers areas such as managing the work, technology and other subject specialisms. The manual takes the reader through the basic principles of indexing on to expert approaches, and thereforce has a broad appeal for both indexers and prospective indexers whether they work freelance or in-house.
