Sinopsis
This volume addresses the three categories of eating disorders - anorexia, bulimia and obesity - presenting both medical and psychiatric aetiologies. In addition to general medical management, the authors deal with ancillary treatment approaches from a dietary and occupational therapeutic perspective. The use of the clinical laboratory and neurological examination as an adjunct to medical and paediatric treatment are explored. Special groups such as the male, the addict and the geriatric patient receive special attention. The internationally acclaimed BASH approach is also reviewed. For the physician manager, there is a chapter describing the initiation and administration of an eating disorders unit.
