This book contains edited versions of the papers presented at the Fifth International Symposium of Science and Engineering on Supercomputers. The topics covered included the application of computational fluid dynamics in such diverse areas as aerodynamics, atmospheric and oceanic modeling, combustion and food processing. Other chapters describe how supercomputers are employed in drug design and biomedicine. Other topics addressed are numerical techniques in linear algebra, structural analysis and the design of a productive supercomputing environment.
