Lot of techniques exist which can be applied on the existing protocols to make them more efficient and less vulnerable to outer attacks. In this book Ant Colony Optimization has been implemented to enhance the performance of a routing protocol. The technique uses Artificial Intelligence on all the nodes in an ad hoc network to compute the most efficient and shortest route. A novel concept of ant agents has been applied to enhance the performance of existing Dynamic MANET on demand (DYMO) protocol which also provides alternate multiple paths in case of link break or node failure with an additional feature of load balancing. The protocol named E-DYMO (Enhanced DYMO) is an enhancement in the performance of existing protocol and is more efficient.
