With the introduction of advanced biological testing, forensic techniques have evolved beyond traditional methods, embracing powerful tools like DNA analysis, mitochondrial DNA testing, and innovative genomic technologies. Through these techniques, forensic science has the ability to not only enhance existing practices but also open new doors for investigators. The book covers the current update on biological forensic science, highlighting both traditional and emerging techniques. It inludes topics on DNA analysis, mitochondrial DNA, RNA, forensic serology, entomology and anthropology. Il also presents trace evidence, forensic botany, toxicology and genetics and describes the role of artificial intelligence in emerging forensic biology.
