Dr Ioannis Nikolakakis is a Professor at the School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health Sciences at the Department of Pharmacy, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His research interests span various areas related to powder processing, solid-liquid interactions, hot melt extrusion, pellets, tableting, and biomaterials. He has been the coordinator of research programs and industrial projects for the development of pellets and tablets for oral absorption and sustained release, the formulation of hygroscopic drugs and the formulation of poorly soluble drugs using self-emulsifying systems and amorphous drug systems for absorption improvement. He serves on the editorial boards of the journals ‘Drug Development and Research’ and ‘Processes’.
Dr Ioannis Partheniadis is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. His work on pharmaceutical technology comprises novel thermal and spectroscopic characterization methods, conventional and novel formulation methods including tableting, hot melt extrusion, needleless electrospinning as well as the development of amorphous and co-amorphous systems. He has extensive collaboration with industry for the development of solid and semi-solid drug formulations.
