Esther Akinlabi is a professor of mechanical engineering at University of Johannesburg in South Africa. She is currently the Director of the Pan African University for Life and Earth Sciences Institute (PAULESI) in Nigeria.

Aderemi Atayero is a professor of communication engineering at Covenant University in Nigeria. He had served as the 5^th vice-chancellor of the institution.

The book is a collection of analyses on country-specific and universal efforts, programmes and projects from Africa and beyond, aimed at realising the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
