A collection of the artwork of Richard P. Feynman, scientist and winner of the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1965. Beginning with his earliest drawings of the human figure in 1962, the book displays Feynman's development of a personal artistic sensitivity to line, form and the moods of his subject; as well as his experimentation with various styles and media. The selected artwork was produced over a 25 year period until 1987, the year before his death.

Hardcover. Condición: Good. No Jacket. Reprint. The Art of Richard P. Feynman: Images by a Curious Character compiled by Michelle Feynman (2004 Hardcover no Dust Jacket) "Beginning with his earliest, awkward drawings of the human figure in 1962, the book displays Feynman's fascinating development of a personal artistic sensitivity to line, form and the moods of his subject; as well as his experimentation with various styles and media. The selected artwork was produced over a 25 year period until 1987, the year before his death. It mainly consists of black and white drawings, his favorite medium, all carefully chosen by his daughter, Michelle. This book brings together, for the first time, a collection of the artwork of Richard P. Feynman, scientist extraordinaire and winner of the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1965." You might be surprised that a world class physics professor at Caltech could have produced a body of artwork that would be compiled into a book. His daughter doubted it until she was approached to compile her father's work into this book. She discovered over 100 of his sketch books with a drawing on every page! Michelle has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and earns her living as a photographer. The first 60 pages are interviews or reminiscences about Richard P. Feynman as a man and/or artist. It is notable that the work which earned his Nobel Prize featured graphic diagrams which simplified the calculations of interaction between light and matter. His understanding of physics was visual even if multidimensional equations are impossible to draw! Hardcover has black cloth boards with silver lettering on spine and front, but no dust jacket. There is no colored artwork in this book, even in the section titled Color Plates. All is printed in-line in B&W, there are no plates. Interior is tight, clean and unmarked. Always privately owned. Copyright 1995. Reprinted 2004 by Routledge when licensed and transferred to digital printing. ISBN: 2-88449-047-7. No LCCN nor MSR. Thanks for looking! No Ownership Markings.
