Facsimile edition of the Tacuinum Sanitatis, a medieval health handbook originally compiled by Ibn Butlan in the 11th century. This edition reproduces the manuscript Codex Vindobonensis Series Nova 2644, housed in the Austrian National Library. The publication consists of two volumes. The facsimile volume includes 107 folios, bound in beige full leather with blind-stamped decorative frames on the covers and raised bands on the spine. The commentary volume contains 156 pages with scholarly analysis and translations in French and Dutch, bound in half beige leather with brown cloth boards. Both volumes are presented in the publisher's slipcases. The spines of the leather bindings are slightly discolored due to sun exposure but otherwise in perfect condition. See pictures.
