Sinopsis
Troisième volume de la collection "Car Racing", 1967 est celui qui témoigne de l'avènement progressif de la couleur. Les photographes jonglent désormais avec les pellicules noir et blanc et couleurs, mais toujours au plus près des pilotes et de tous les amoureux de vitesse et de compétition. Industries et marques automobiles ont bien saisi toute l'importance de la formidable tribune qui leur est proposée, et redoublent d'enthousiasme pour partager avec le public histoires et victoires. Nombreuses sont évoquées, parmi lesquelles la formidable épopée Ford avec son moteur Cosworth et son triomphe au Mans. De Francois Cevert à Bruce McLaren, le livre fart également la part belle aux portraits de pilotes et rappelle aussi les parcours de concepteurs de légende, parmi lesquels Jean Rédélé, Colin Chapman et autre Jim Hall.. Dans leurs commentaires, Johnny Rives et Manou Zurini ne boudent pas leur plaisir de retrouver tous ceux qu'ils ont côtoyés dans la fleure des circuits, livrant des anecdotes et par rageant leurs connaissances.

Acerca del autor
Johnny Rives remains the ultimate specialist of motorsport, first joining L’Équipe in 1960. A former Formula 1 commentator on the TV channel TF1, he has published a number of works dedicated to his passion for sports cars and racing. Here, he sketches several moving portraits of great drivers that echo the photographs taken by DPPI.
A former driver himself, Manou Zurini is the oldest photographer of automobile racing, and was a fixture on the tracks from the early 1960s, notably as a member of DPPI. Many of his shots were seen all over the world. Today retired from the track, he is a world-renowned sculptor, and shares his deep knowledge of automobile racing in the captions for this book.
