It's nearly Radonya's eighteenth birthday, but she knows there is no walking away from the horrors of the orphanage she's been trapped in nearly all her life. Her only hope is to escape, but when she does she is brutally shot and killed. When she awakens she finds herself magically alive and in the home of her mysterious best friend, Domaren. He isn't the simple poor orphan she grew up thinking he was, and apparently neither is she. He takes her to a world she has been hidden from. A world brimming with werewolves and elves, magic and terrible evil, wizards and royalty. She learns of a prophesy and a shattered sword whose pieces have been spread across the continent. Only her hand can wield it without utter destruction. She must use it to destroy the dark wizard, Amicus who is purging the land of life and beauty and who has long been searching for her. As she is plunged into this new way of life with the hourglass trickling away and strange new friends at her side, she can't help but wonder how she's supposed to save a world she's never heard of when she doesn't even know who she truly is.

Crystal was born and raised in the beautiful state of Colorado where she currently lives with her husband and their two dogs. She has a deep love for literature and has been reading and writing since she was old enough to do so. She grew up going on wondrous adventures to the local library with her mother and brother and that is where her love of the written word was discovered. It has been an addiction ever since! Pieces of the Sword is the first novel in the trilogy and the first book Crystal has published (though many more are on the horizon!) She enjoys reading, writing, playing video games and spending time four wheel driving in the mountains with her family. She is also a self proclaimed nerd, loving all things fandom (especially The Lord of the Rings which has inspired her life in so many beautiful ways.)
