Sinopsis

Let Us Go Up recounts Betsy Ramsay’s extraordinary courage and resilience in becoming a citizen of Israel and making her home in Jerusalem. (Let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, say both the biblical prophets, Micah and Isaiah.) A dramatic ingredient of Betsy’s story and a somewhat complicating factor for her in the beginning is that she is a part of that Jewish faith community believing that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Jewish Messiah. At the same time Betsy’s experiences confirm Hamlet’s belief that there is a “divinity that shapes our ends.” In the face of obstacles, that “divinity” – a golden thread of propitious interventions interweaving her narrative – helps Betsy succeed, while her own courage and resourcefulness plus her outreach to others, win our admiration.
