This unique book literally contains just shy of 1,000 puns that were spontaneously generated by its decidedly extroverted author. When it comes to the art of punning, Scott laces his writing with ironic twists and has it sewn up tight. You, or the book's intended, will soon be delighted to have entered the world of Scott's unique creative imagination and punning prowess. As you progress through this highly entertaining book, as your appetite for puns is whet, Scott's writing sometimes morphs into longer and more elaborate short stories complete with aptly named fictional characters. Many of these short stories contain a dozen or more puns each that may require a re-read or two to make sure you catch the more subtle ones. Scott has been recognized in social settings for his ability to instantaneously combine words in a way that stands the English language on its head. You may find yourself trying to remember these stories and the puns they contain so that you can share them with friends and coworkers. At the end of the book, once you're convinced that Scott is nothing, but a comic punster, he shares another side of himself and his use of language with the inclusion of serious compositions that he created in reflection of many of his own personal important life passages...

Scott McGowan is an avid musician who owns and operates Playtime Arts Academy of Greater Baltimore, based in Owings Mills which he founded with his wife Harlene in 1997. Scott provides piano & keyboard lessons in students’ homes and employs additional instructors who also travel to students’ homes to provide piano & keyboard, guitar and voice lessons. Scott began giving lessons in students’ homes in 1993 and later involved his wife, Harlene in 1996, encouraging her to quit her full-time sales job to join him by taking the students on his waiting list. In 1997, with a combined waiting list, they decided to expand their business, by hiring additional instructors to travel to students' homes for lessons and thus Playtime Piano Instruction was born. Within a few short years, in the then booming economy, their music school was serving over 360 piano & keyboard students with dozens of instructors and still had a waiting list of over 50 families. In 2015 Scott & Harlene re-branded their business under the advisement of music lesson business expert Marty Fort as Playtime Arts Academy (www.playtimeartsacademy.com) and began hiring instructors to teach guitar and voice lessons in students' homes as well. Harlene continued to provide lessons and operate the academy along with Scott up until the time of her unexpected passing in August of 2017. Scott continues to manage the Academy with the assistance of an office employee. Scott enjoys playing piano and singing, and also plays a little bit of guitar and flute on occasion, both of which he taught himself, but piano continues to be his primary instrument which he began learning at the age of 7. He loves to sing karaoke locally twice a week under the auspices of Goldberg Productions as well as getting together with friends for guitar / music jams. Videos of his performance can be found on his youtube channel ScottsPianoCafe. Scott holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Delaware and has always had a great love of language. He is fairly fluent in Spanish and obviously has a great love of humor and word plays.
