A full-length poetry collection from the award-winning poet of
In the Shadows of the Morn
Andrew Ross Nature Poetry Award (2017)
This is Robert Schout’s second full-length collection of poetry. His first collection – Light Stream: Spirit Inspired Poetry and Poetic Prose – featured inspirational, contemplative, and spiritual journey poems that have invited people around the world into reflective states of consciousness. In his second collection – Listen: Wisdom from Nature in Poetic Form – Robert shares conversations with and about Nature transcribed in poetic form. Through his poetry, the reader receives many of the revelations of wisdom, beauty, and guidance that Nature has to offer.
ROBERT SCHOUT ‘s nature-guided, spiritually-inspired, and LGBTQ-themed poetry has been published in journals, periodicals, anthologies, and magazines since 2007. Robert’s full-length collection of nature-inspired poetry combines traditional poetic verse, free-form poetry, and poetic prose.
Robert invites you to receive through verse, what Nature can teach us daily. His poems invite the reader to listen to: lessons from the trees, the water’s reflections, the sun, sky, and wisdom carried on a breeze, the mountains, and to oneself as one wanders along nature’s many paths.
Robert Schout’s collection of nature poetry positions him firmly in the company of the finest poets of nature: Mary Oliver, W.S. Merwin, Katherine Riegel, Dan Chiasson, and R.W. Emerson.
ROBERT SCHOUT is an American poet whose work has been published in periodicals and anthologies: Timeless Voices (2007), Sacred Journeys (2007), Scenes from the Live Poets’ Society(2011). Robert Schout is an author of children’s books, What Can I Do Today?, What Can I Say Today?, What Can I See Today?, and What Can I Give Today?
