Dr. Arthur Shelley from Australia and his beloved Organizational Zoo critters, along with illustrator Dr. Mark Boyes, join the Mountain Quest team on an amazing quest to unleash the human mind. Collectively, these OrgZoo animals represent attributes and characteristics scattered throughout humanity, with each animal representing a behavioral style recognizable in work and social settings, some perceived as largely positive and others perceived as largely negative, yet all potentially offering contributions to the diversity and discovery that illustrates the path of experiential learning.
This Field Guide is a companion piece to Unleashing the Human Mind: A Consilience Approach to Managing Self, which has at its foundation ten-year Mountain Quest Institute research study exploring neuroscience and other scientific fields and disciplines related to experiential learning. As their learning quest, the OrgZoo critters have selected an expedition to an obscure remote region of the Earth where they identified a challenging mountain peak reaching up to just over 12,000 feet. They have affectionately named their expedition and the summit Mountain Quest II. We invite you to join this quest, following the OrgZoo Questers throughout the field guide as they share their learning and insights. As you move through this field guide and participate in the Xercises with these critters, your understanding of SELF will simultaneously deepen and expand and—along with them—awaken new capacities in your lives.
