This last volume of the Aunt Phil's Trunk Alaska history series highlights the first 25 years of statehood, from the Good Friday Earthquake, to the discovery of black gold in Prudhoe Bay to the building of an 800-mile-long pipeline across some of the most remote and rugged country in the world. Did you know: • 1964 Good Friday Earthquake measured 9.2 on Moment Magnitude Scale? • A painting elephant named Annabelle started the Alaska Zoo? • One Alaska town saved millions of coupons to get a much-needed fire truck? These and many more stories fill the pages of Aunt Phil's Trunk Volume Five, which is suitable for readers from 9 to 99 years old.
