THE OTTOS are a father-son author team from Norman, Oklahoma. Dr. John Otto is a veterinarian who has volunteered with the prison dog program in Oklahoma for more than eighteen years. Like his father, Payton loves animals, especially dogs and cats. The Otto clan also includes mother Patti and older brother Grant. This is the Ottos' first book. JANELDA LANE is assistant director of youth ministries for the First United Methodist Church of Stillwater, Oklahoma. The mother of four Brandon,Bethany, Timothy, and Gabriel she draws, paints, and makes her home in Stillwater, Oklahoma, with her husband, David. Marvin's Shining Star is her first picture book.
