Richard Krech had his first book published by d.a. levy in 1967. He published a magazine, the Avalanche, and organized a series of poetry readings at a bookstore on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley for several years in the sixties. Krech stopped writing poetry in the mid-seventies and went to law school and has been practicing criminal defense in Oakland, California, since 1980. After a 25-year line break, he began writing poetry again early this century and has had several books published as well as a bibliography. He lives with his wife Mary Holbrook in Albany, California.
