Verge - the short fiction anthology of Monash University (Australia) - was first published in 2005, creating a space for emerging writers of the university to showcase their best creative works in both short fiction and poetry. For this 2012 volume, submissions were opened up to the wider literary community and include new genres, such as creative non-fiction, photography, illustration, and comics. The theme for the anthology is 'inverse' and is explored through diverse works that focus on ideas, such as Australia's position in the world as the supposed "upside-down" country, the image of oneself in the mirror and the implied opposites/doubles, or things that are not usually considered poetic "in verse." The anthology will be launched at the Melbourne Writers Festival.
