Sinopsis

This book is designed to be used by counsellors and therapists who are new to single-session therapy and who, having had some training in SST, wish to offer this mode of therapy delivery to their clients who are seeking help with specific problems. In this book, Windy Dryden outlines 23 steps that are divided into four parts: (1) the pre-conversation phase, (2) the beginning phase, (3) the middle phase and (4) the ending phase and beyond. While these steps have been presented logically, therapists do not have to use them in this order. The best way to use these steps is to view them as a handy person views their tools in a toolbox. They won’t use all these tools but they need to know where they are and when they can be used if needed. Windy Dryden is Emeritus Professor of Psychotherapeutic Studies at Goldsmiths University of London. His goal is to disseminate SST, or what he refers to as ONEplus Therapy.
