The distraught sisters, Mary and Martha, waited to learn whether there was any hope for their brother to be healed. Their anticipation kept fading as the clock ticked into minutes and hours. Martha and Mary accepted the reality that their beloved brother was dead. They waived any possible chances of resurrection because he had been dead for four days and their shock blinded them from seeing any possibility of life in the tomb. Their predictions of the stench which would result from the removal of the stone which blocked the entrance of the tomb were nullified by a strange twist of fate. Jesus called Lazarus from the tomb and he who had been dead, came alive and came forth. Hence, the day of mourning turned to a day of celebration of life. This book encourages you to believe, be still and wait on the Lord when nothing seems to be going your way. As the Psalmist advises, “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14, NKJV)
