Catherine Midgley was first introduced to meditation in a cave in Thailand in 1991. Her first experiences of meditation in the workplace was in the late 1990s when working as a training consultant. Meditation was used as a team development tool to enable trust, understanding and dialogue amongst the team members. In 2003, Catherine set up her own development consultancy, providing management development workshops and executive coaching. Catherine started to practice mindfulness and in time introduced this concept to certain clients, realising that it was a remarkable way of managing stressful situations at work. Catherine is trained in Workplace MT (Workplace Mindfulness Training) and works as an executive coach and workshop facilitator, incorporating mindfulness into her work and life. Carroll Macey has worked in several senior positions in blue chip organisations in the UK and Europe, including working at board level. As a coach and workshop facilitator for over 20 years, Carroll has worked to bring about transformational change at a one to one, team, corporate and organisational level. Trained as a psychotherapist, Carroll has creative insight into the impact that complexity, the pace of change and uncertainty has on leaders and managers. Looking for tools to help clients deal with the reality of today s workplace led Carroll to training as a mindfulness teacher at the Centre for Mindfulness at Bangor University and the Oxford Centre for Mindfulness. Carroll combines her background and experience in business, psychotherapy and mindfulness into her work with managers and leaders, developing their capacity to operate at their best more often.
