The work of Boston-based Kennedy & Violich addresses the conditions of standardized systems and materials of construction, and explores the potential of underused sites - in particular the familiar, uncanny spaces of infrastructure hidden in the body of the building or the city. Their projects work with these spaces in order to explore alternatives to the normative spatial relationships and social hierarchies of museums, schools, homes and recreational spaces.
