Dr Hans Jenny (1904-72) was a doctor and scientist in Switzerland. The first volume of Kymatik -- a word he coined -- was published in 1967, followed by a second in 1972. He taught science at the Rudolf Steiner School in Zürich for four years before practising medicine.

DVD, Case, and Paper Materials are clean, unmarked, brightly colored and tightly bound. Scarce, Out Of Print, DVD. English, 1 Hour in length. Media Format: PAL. "The two rare films originally made by Hans Jenny around 1970 are now available together on this single DVD. The study of wave phenomena and vibration was pioneered by the Swiss Physician and Renaissance Man, Hans Jenny. Part I of this two-part series highlights Dr. Jenny's pioneering experiments using audible sound frequencies to excite inert powders, pastes, and liquids, into life-like flowing forms. The stunning array of images reflects a variety of forms found throughout nature, while viewing them in motion elicits an intuitive understanding of the invisible forces which underlie natural processes, from the movements of amoebae to the formation of galaxies. Part II details a variety of patterns created by vibrating lycopodium powder. Audible frequencies give rise to circulatory processes which closely resemble sunspots and solar flares. Other frequencies generate flowing patterns analogous to the formation and rotation of spiral galaxies. Unusual three-dimensional forms arise that seem to defy gravity and laws of motion, but all adhere strictly to the dynamics of the generating tone. The closing sequence features liquid kaolin paste as it solidifies under the effect of vibration, creating intricate geomorphic patterns.". Nº de ref. del artículo: 019819

This REVISED EXPANDED EDITION includes a 26pp preface (Jeff Volk's sections, Foreword by Ted Gioia, etc.) and is a "complete compilation of the original two volumes by Hans Jenny. Volume 1, 1967 - The structure and dynamics of waves and vibrations. * Volume 2, 1974 - Wave phenomena, vibrational effects and harmonic oscillations with their structure, kinetics and dynamics. Documents 14 years of meticulous experiments using audible sound to excite powders, pastes and liquids into life-like, flowing forms. Over 350 stunning photographs reflect patterns found throughout nature, art and architecture, inspiring a deep recognition of the generative power of sound and vibration." Note: the DVD (2006) and this Revised HC (2024) book appear to have been published using the SAME ISBN (1888138106 / 978-1888138108), which is causing some confusion in the marketplace. This is the HC Book (2024), which includes much more materials than the two original books, published together in 2001. : B&W Photographs. Nº de ref. del artículo: 019270
