A Celebration of Salmon Rivers is a book devoted to the Atlantic salmon and to the magnificent coldwater rivers they inhabit. It depicts, in stunning pictures and words, over fifty of the world's finest Atlantic salmon rivers, ranging from Russia, to Scotland, Ireland, Norway, Iceland and Canada. In fact, all the countries with rivers holding Atlantic salmon. The settings include some of the most intact wildernesses in the northern hemisphere through which, like silver ribbons, the great salmon rivers tumble. This is a must-have book for all salmon anglers, conservationists and naturalists. This book - conceived by Orri Vigfusson, the indefatigable Icelandic campaigner for salmon - is a fund-raiser for NASF, the charity he founded in 1989. Randolph Ashton, the principal photographer behind this book, has researched the Atlantic salmon across its entire range. He visited fifty famous salmon rivers, meeting those most closely involved in the conservation battle and recording what they saw in glorious photographs. The words are written by leading salmon experts form many countries, including: Max Hastings, Charles Bingham, Michael Wigan, Robert Gillespie, Gareth Edwards, Michael Evans, Hoagy Carmichael, and many others.
