Reseña del editor

Merseyside has always attracted Irish, Welsh and Scottish immigrants. The Irish were predominantly Roman Catholic and, in the nineteenth century, were concentrated in one particular area of Liverpool. The Welsh tended to attract Welsh language churches and to be concentrated in certain professions such as teaching, building and retailing. Scots, on the other hand, lived throughout the city and were found in most trades and professions and attended a wider range of churches.
