Knowledge of the Heart is based on one of the great religious literary discoveries of our time: the finding of the Gnostic Gospels in upper Egypt in 1945. The Gnostics were an early Christian sect who believed that God could only be accessed through gnosis, a revealed knowledge or inner wisdom which streams from a wellspring within each individual.

Arranged in sections representing the eight monastic periods of prayer, each extract is followed by a personal contemplation by the author. This beautifully presented book contains powerful ideas which have particular relevance for our own tunes, and which are expressions of the timeless longing of the human soul to explain the mysteries of existence.
