Sinopsis

Jazz Works is a brand new collection of compositions for jazz ensembles at three levels. For each level there are eight original pieces in a challenging range of styles, with parts for C, Bb, Eb and bass-clef instruments, and for a rhythm section of piano, guitar, bass and drums. Each piece is backed up with detailed performance and rehearsal notes, as well as remarks on stylistic and cultural influences - everything, in short, to help directors, teachers and performers get the best out of the pieces. There are also helpful links to the separate Teacher's Book and CD (ISBN 1 86096 095 2).

Críticas

This is an all-embracing series for jazz ensembles ... well laid out with clear explanations and illustrations ... In all an excellent place to go for starting, developing or extending almost any jazz group. (Sheet Music)

The teacher's book is excellent. Jeremy Price and MIke Sheppard have written a comprehensive guide to the issues that arise in the teaching of jazz ... This is an excellent series ... it demonstrates how seriously the Associated Board is taking its move into jazz. (NYJO)

The writing is excellent ... An excellent team has been put together for the session ... a welcome addition to the teaching resource base for teachers/students of jazz. (Jazz Rag)

'Full of useful advice on how to teach jazz ...' (Music Teacher)
