Born in 1935 in London's East End, Alf followed a promising career as a boxer with a stint in the army, serving through the Mau uprising in Kenya. During his four decades in the bodyguard business Alf was on hand during practically every epoch-making and icondefining moment in pop history, becoming a trusted intimate of those he protected. Biografía del autor

was born in 1961 and lives in London. He started his journalism career in the mid-80s and has written for some of the world's leading newspapers and magazines including Music Week, the Guardian, the Independent, La Times and the Melbourne Age. He started his own independent production company in 1992 to develop film scripts and programmes for Tv and radio. He is currently writing a screenplay.
