The future brings with it the potential divergence of economic conduct away from that purely based on the polarised efforts of either "market forces" or "state intervention". In the light of this, fresh evaluation is needed, both of the evolution and efficacy of incomes policies thus far, as well as of proposed solutions for the future. This book brings together studies from eight European countries; each analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of incomes policies implemented over the last decade. Collectively, they offer an overview of the trends and developments in incomes policies, both in the context of Europe and the world as a whole. The text shoud be a useful aid to understanding the dynamics of the economies of the future Europe.
