Sinopsis
This album was the first to be published in Alan Haughton's Rhythm and Rag series (see EPP84, and Rhythm and Rag for Trumpet and Clarinet). Críticas
Musical quality: Outstanding. (Piano Quarterly)
As the title suggests, these pieces in jazz idiom are a splendid introduction for young pupils wishing to get away from the 'classics' for a while. Alan Haughton has taught many young children and his music has an immediate appeal with its catchy rhythms yet not too difficult technically. (Piano Journal)
Alan Haughton displays a natural melodic gift in the 16 short pieces in Rhythm and Rag, which form an excellent introduction to this style. Where this collection scores over others of a similar type is that each piece is not only intensely musical - some are real gems - but it also poses quite specific technical challenges. (Music Journal)
